We have two hardship grants available for those who are struggling financially – The Benevolent Society of St Patrick Grant and Irish Youth Foundation. See below for details on both of these grants.
THE BENEVOLENT SOCIETY OF ST PATRICK GRANT
The Benevolent Society of St Patrick was instituted in 1783 to assist Irish people in need residing in London. The purpose of the grant is to relieve hardship. The Society distributes money by way of small grants to Irish people in London who are in need. These grants range from £50 to £250.
Grants are given for the following purposes:
To be eligible for the BSOSP grant, you need to meet specific criteria. Click here for more information. To apply for this grant, you will need to fill in this application form and send it to [email protected].
The overall nature of a potential beneficiary’s circumstances will be assessed when considering applications. Key indicators of need include financial status, age, number of dependents, physical and mental health, security of accommodation and other factors that could be understood as creating a crisis or vulnerability.
All applications are reviewed individually and assessed in accordance with all London Irish Centre policies. We maintain the right to decline any application.
Working with our friends at the Irish Youth Foundation, we manage a hardship grant for people under 30 using the same application form and guidance as for the Benevolent Society of St Patrick grant.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this grant, please contact our team by calling 020 7916 2222 or emailing [email protected]
