London Irish Stories

London Irish Stories is a community-led project that collects and celebrates the diverse stories of Irish people in London. We share the stories of anyone who has a connection to both Ireland and London – from those who sailed to Britain in the mid-20th century, to those with no Irish heritage but an affinity to the culture through Irish dance, Gaelic football and so on.

If you’d like to take part or know someone with an interesting London Irish Story of their own, you can get in touch by emailing [email protected]

What a wonderful, inspiring, educational and uplifting initiative this was. It was a huge honour to be asked to share my knowledge, it was fantastic to be a part of such an amazing, diverse and positive line-up, and it was a pleasure to be given the opportunity to engage with such a receptive and interested audience. Mo cheol sibh uilig Gary and all the team at the LIC, and I hope this initiative shines a light for a long time to come.

It gave me a connection to home in the midst of the pandemic when going home to see family, friends and loved ones feels far away. The stories, music and culture makes you very proud to be Irish. Hearing about the work that the Centre does for the surrounding community is really inspiring and long may it continue.
