Our Survivors Integrated Service (SIS) provides tailored support and advocacy to former residents of Irish institutions living in London and the South of England.
We are a trauma-informed, compassionate and confidential service. We are here to listen, to offer support where it’s needed and to advocate alongside you and on your behalf.
Our service is led by lived experience, with a deep understanding of the realities and long-lasting impact of institutional life.
We support former residents of Irish institutions and their families, who are now living in London and the South of England. These institutions include:
If you live in London and the South of England but cannot travel to the London Irish Centre in Camden, our Outreach Team can come to you.
If live outside our geographical area, we can signpost you to our national partner Survivor Services. These are located in Coventry, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
Support to access Survivor’s Payment Schemes: National Survivors Response Line
If you spent time in a Mother and Baby Home or Country Home institution in Ireland, you may be entitled to payments and health supports under the Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme.
We provide a national freephone service, providing up-to-date information on this scheme. We can also help you with your application.
For free, expert advice, call Sean on 0800 519 5519. This line is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10am – 4pm.
One to One support
We provide both emotional and practical support. This includes face to face consultations, outreach visits to your home, guidance on payment schemes, and referrals to counselling through our partners at ICAP.
We liaise with external services such as GP’s, hospitals, housing and care providers or any other service where you may feel unsupported, misunderstood and require additional support.
Where we might be unable to support you, we will signpost to other London Irish Centre services for their expert support.

Survivors’ Events and Groups Activities
Alongside our individual focus, we bring people and friends together. We host monthly luncheons and weekly activities at the London Irish Centre and an afternoon coffee session in West London. These include Monthly Luncheons, Storytelling, Creative Writing and Music Group Sessions.
These are friendly, relaxed spaces to connect, and simply enjoy being together. We also organise annual seaside trips and outings, where everyone is welcome.
Our service is led by lived experience with a deep understanding of the realities and long-lasting impact of institutional life.
Our team of five staff includes:
