Enablement Service

Find out about our Lottery funded Enablement service, offering one to one support, and providing a variety of activities aimed at improving wellbeing and confidence.

The purpose of this new service is to provide specialist support to those living with complex needs or multiple areas of disadvantage, working to reduce these vulnerabilities through early intervention.

We aim to:

• Reduce social isolation and loneliness.
• Prevent homelessness and ensure access to appropriate housing.
• Maximise financial position.
• Optimise physical health.
• Support independence and enhance the quality of life.
• Enhance mental wellbeing.
• Foster connection.

What is an Enablement Officer?

An Enablement Officer is dedicated to providing support to individuals facing three or more areas of significant vulnerability who may be lacking support, nearing a crisis, or feeling isolated.

What might make someone in need of support?

• Physical or mental health issues.
• Disability and/or differently abled.
• Poverty, debt, or homelessness.
• Substance misuse or close family of an alcohol or substance misuser.
• Fear/risk of abuse.
• Social isolation and/or loneliness.

If you are struggling with three or more of these issues you may benefit from working with our Enablement Officer.

What might the Enablement Officer help me with?

The Enablement Officer will listen to you and identify areas where the London Irish Centre might be able to support or signpost you, such as providing housing or benefits advice, food or financial support, statutory services advocacy, social opportunities or any other activity that might help improve your mental or physical wellbeing.
