The Befriending Service offers a blended approach of contact. People are matched with volunteers, who provide weekly telephone calls and / or in-person community / home visits, depending on the befriendee’s circumstances.
Our befriending volunteers are all carefully trained and DBS checked by our team before they are matched with their befriendee.
Our Befriending Service is accredited with the Quality in Befriending Award developed by Befriending Networks.

We just hit it off from the word go, you can’t help but like her. It seems as if we were meant to meet, I was in the right place at the right time when I was offered a telephone befriender.
It was lovely meeting him in person. He is really kind. We had a lovely, lovely chat. It’s nice to meet someone you’ve so much in common with, especially Irish and world history. I’d never get tired of discussing it with him.
