Mind Yourself, the Holloway-based charity that has supported the health and well- being of Irish people in London since 2012, will be closing as a charity in late March due to a lack of sustainable funding.
The London Irish Centre charity is delighted to announce, with support from the Emigrant Support Programme through the Irish Embassy, that we will continue to run Mind Yourself`s innovative activities and programmes from March onwards.
In the past year alone, Mind Yourself supported close to 500 people through its one-to-one support and group activities. The London Irish Centre charity is looking forward to extending a warm welcome to Mind Yourself`s many clients and services users.
Caitriona Carney, Director of Community Services at the London Irish Centre charity said: “We are delighted Mind Yourself`s activities and programmes for the Irish community will continue at the London Irish Centre and look forward to continuing to build on the great work of the charity.”
Brian Hanley, Mind Yourself’s Interim CEO, said: “Mind Yourself has remained in existence at a very challenging time for charities, despite always struggling to raise much-needed funds. We are delighted that the London Irish Centre charity has stepped in and we would like to thank everyone who has supported Mind Yourself’s work over many years— including our funders, volunteers and members. We will work to ensure all those who benefit from our services continue to be supported under the new arrangement with the London Irish Centre.”
