Welcome to our eight-week Beginners Irish Language Course, Tús – Irish from Scratch. 

Tús in Irish means ‘Start’ and it's this course where you will begin your journey into the Irish Language.

Over the course of eight weeks, our teacher William Brady will guide you on a linguistic venture, where you will learn the basics of the Irish language. 

No prior knowledge of Irish is required —just a curiosity to explore and a willingness to learn. 

This course is intended for those who have never experienced the Irish Language before. If you attended Irish lessons previously, or maybe studied it at school many years ago, maybe your family spoke it you may wish to try our next level – Feabhas.

This course was previously called Absolute Beginners.


Location: Online via Zoom.

You will be emailed a zoom link anytime up to the day before your classes begin.

This course is intended for those who have never experienced the Irish Language before – that is the complete novice. If you attended Irish lessons previously, or maybe studied it at school many years ago, maybe your family spoke it you may already have enough to get by.

Over the course of eight weeks, our teacher Niall Ó Cuileagáin will guide you on a linguistic adventure, where you will learn the basics of the Irish language.

No prior knowledge of Irish is required

Dive headfirst into the Irish language, discovering its sounds, structures, and essential vocabulary. You'll quickly build a strong foundation for effective communication. We also have a variety of Irish books in our Irish Library to keep you challenged and sustained across your studies.

Cultural Exploration

Language and culture are intertwined. Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Irish culture, exploring ancient folklore, modern literature, and the significance of the Irish language in preserving the country's heritage by taking part in our vibrant cultural offering across the centre.

Conversational Practice

Language learning comes to life through conversation. As you journey through our courses, our experienced instructors will guide you through real-life scenarios, ensuring you're ready to hold conversations.
