Theatre: Heads or Tales? Scratch Night

Presidential Suite Seated

30/05/2023 7:00pm

We are
Slàinte! Theatre, an Irish and Scottish new writing theatre company based in
London. We want to bring more authentic voices to London Theatre in terms of
both the work we create and the creatives we work with.

Start: 7pm Duration: 3hrs

Tickets: £7 Available via link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/heads-or-tales-scratch-night-tickets-628459187347

At our scratch night, writers will present
two scenes from a piece of work: their first scene and their last. As a theatre
company, we focus on representing Scottish and Irish Voices and would ask
submissions for work to reflect this. As writers will showcase their beginning
and ending scenes, we will accommodate time after each performance for the
writer to engage with the audience, allowing them to ask questions, gain
feedback etc.

This time we’ll be switching up and
shaking up our original format! We now have a resident scene and also an opportunity
at the end to incorporate YOUR suggestions to our writers scenes and see how
they play out!

Our Scratch Nights will now take place
on the last Tuesday of every month at the London Irish Centre in Camden – join
us for a fun night of authentic Celtic stories!”

We’re still finishing casting for one
of the pieces however the lineup is as follows:

“The Art of Tea”- written by Ruth
Carnegie

“Thursday”- written by Caitlin
Lee-Smith

“Cornelius Gorefall’s Last Ride”-
written by Michael Murray Draine

“Backs Against the Wall”- written by Rónán Karicos (‘the Slainte Slot’)

“Hit Me Harder”- written by Joe O’Neill (from Irish Creative
Collective)
