What is it?
The Jive Tribe is back for weekly dance classes every Wednesday night from 7pm at The London Irish Centre!
Back by popular demand, these classes are expected to fill up quickly. Country jiving is hugely popular across the dance halls in Ireland.
We’ll also teach you fun line dances and the old time waltz alongside the most popular jive steps and have you dancing in no time at all!
Everyone is welcome to attend the full two hour class, but this will give you an idea of the structure:
7-7:15pm: Registration and introductions.
7:15-7:45pm: Beginners steps/new moves. We’ll teach you beginners jive moves from scratch, covering footwork, posture, timing… and have you dancing with confidence in minutes.
7:45-8:45pm: A variety of dance instruction from jiving, double jiving, waltzing, line dancing and the occasional ceili dance.
8:45-9pm: Dance party – this is where we let the music play and you can put all your steps to practice.
No partner required. Come as you are, no experience necessary! Each class truly is about having fun and meeting a new group of people.
Our Camden classes are taking place at the London Irish Centre.
Each class will be followed by an optional social at the London Irish Centre bar, with live trad music.
