Absolute Beginners (level 1) In Person
Our Absolute Beginners 8-week course is for people with no prior
experience of the Irish language.
The aim of the course is to help students make their first
steps in becoming familiar with Irish. Students will be given a general
introduction to the main features of Irish, including grammar and rules of
pronunciation, but the focus will be on activating the language by getting
students speaking with simple sentences they can use in everyday life; introducing
themselves, describing where they are from, what they do, and so on. They will
also find out about the three main dialects of Irish and other ways that the
language influences Irish culture.
Classes will be held in person at the London Irish Centre in
a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for interaction
and practice with other classmates.
